HOT DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(is that a curse word to anybody? sorry.)

i pulled up to mr. and mrs. gorj's casa and then their kids, gorj 1 and gorj 2 emerged, and i couldn't believe it.

('gorj' is not their last name...although i think it should be. it's my new abbreviation for 'gorgeous' in case you haven't caught on yet.)

not only are they a super beautiful family, but they were SO KIND and SWEET and FUN.

i loved them.

danae (using real names now...) showed me a big wall space where she is saving room for family pictures from our session.

here are just a handful of my favorites.

i love love LOOOOOOVE having family dogs in for a few shots. the candor of a pet is priceless. RASCAL was no exception...

isn't this gal so pretty?! and she was super sweet and polite to boot. she reminds me of an even cuter, latina version of miley cyrus...does anybody else see that?

this lil dude was a HAM!!!! SUCH a ham. he was awesome.awesome.awesome.

he has me giggling even as i proof pictures.

sofie, senior soccer star sneak peek ~albuquerque teen photographer

( there is a very weird filter thing happening with my bloggity blog. some of my pictures have distorted/compressed look to them. hmmm....gonna have to find out why.)


sofie was SO SWEET.
she could barely muster up an angry goalie face when we did some soccer pictures. (i KNOW she has it in her....girlfriend is getting a soccer scholarship. she is a kick @*$ goalie.)

with mom and little sister in tow we went all 'round town to get some snaps to commemorate this special time in her life. and like mom's of seniors past, sofie's mama got a little emotional. her baby is all grown up....how surreal that must feel.

the state fair ~albuquerque, new mexico photographer

last night us saban's went to the state fair with our bestest friends.
ever since we moved back from texas, our kids have LOVED going to the nm state fair every year.
we plan out our meal on the car ride over. (okay, actually like a month or two in advance...)
we are ALL ABOUT FAIR FOOD.
greasy, fried, sugary, salty, fatty, lovely, delicious fair food.
deep fried twinkies are a little piece of heaven that fill me with joy and clogged arteries. and joy.
you MUST have one.


first we hit up some rides.

our middle son parker thought the WORLD'S SMALLEST HORSE was the

funniest thing he had ever seen.

he literally stood there in tears--belly laughing at it for three minutes straight.

i was almost tempted to pay the 50 cents and check it out myself.

must have been hilarious...

i entitle this next grouping of pictures "i'll save you little bro."

my hottie best friend rachelle. she's currently single and i get to screen any suitors. send me your resume and i'll consider you worthy of a date after our 4th or 5th interview. maybe.

asher and i hit the flying spaceships. only two worked.

we were one of the lucky ones i guess....

mmmmmmmmm, is all i have to say about this....

another addison! sneak peek ~albuquerque childrens photographer

one thing i LOVE about photographing babies (this lil gal is ONE!) is how interested they are in my camera.
every so often they look straight into the lens and make a grab for it.
i love these kind of shots.
they're a perfect snapshot into curious little eyes.

baby addison was no exception.
i probably have a good 20 pictures of her chubby hands reaching for my canon.
these next ones are a few of my faves....

look at all her hair! i couldn't get over how thick it is. SO CUTE this baby girl.

those are baby 'true religion' jeans by the way....




AGH!!! i wanna steal her. so bad.

'pictures for natalie' (the makeup sessions!) ~albuquerque family photographer

we had some weather issues during the 'pictures from natalie' fundraisers and several families had to be rescheduled.

inspiration: stephanie mcbride's senior shoot. (i've gotta give credit where credit is due!)
awesome idea right?
(stephanie is friends with my besties chrissi richards and scarlette richards,
so we are practically related according to the six degrees of separation:)

then one day i came across the coolest laundromat. big windows with lots of natural light and YELLOW WALLS!
great. my location was set.

next, i needed a model. i had a vague picture of her in my mind. someone with dark hair (dark hair and yellow are the perfect combo...)

true story: two weeks ago i went out for pizza with some girlfriends. as we sat at il vacino in nob hill chit chatting...SHE walked in.
all of our heads turned.
"that's THE ONE.
I NEED HER FOR MY SHOOT!!!"
everyone at the table agreed, this was the girl.
i gave savannah my card and told her to email me if she was interested in my idea.
and the rest is history folks.....






my pals stacey and yvonne came as my 'assistants'. i loved having them there with us. so encouraging and full of great ideas. THANK YOU LADIES!
