our lil' trip out of town

laurence had a business convention in ruidoso this past weekend and the kids and i decided to tag along.
we stayed at the inn of the mountain gods--great resort.
the view of the lake (golf course) and mountains from our back door was so pretty. especially at sunset.
the boys' favorite parts of this trip were skipping rocks, the arcade and the pool.
mine were sleeping in and ordering room service.

oh! look who's in time-out again!
that's what happens when you keep splashing your mom in the face after she's told you to cut it out like eight times.
time-out sucka!

my boys, at a table, in a mexican restaurant

in ruidoso.
because that's where we all were this past weekend.

i put the camera down on our table while we were waiting for our food- and snapped these.
somehow, at this little table, in a little mexican restaurant (lucy's), in ruidoso, i captured each of their hearts- to a tee.
sometimes the most cherished pictures are captured during the most unexpected times.

my adorable, kind, smart, funny husband. i just think he is so handsome...

my sweet spencer. he has such sad eyes. even when he's happy, his eyes have a sadness about them.

asher. always has to do everything his big brothers do.

parker. middle child. the maniac.
proudly wearing the bracelet that he made for himself. it says, "parker saban. i am awesome."
we can't say he lacks in the self confidence department....

...and shortly thereafter, in time-out. for teasing his little brother. again.

the senior 411 cards have landed

AND I LOVE THEM!!!!!

guys, these are so SO cool.
they're like a business card for teens.
you know how they like to give out their email addresses and cell numbers to their amigos?
well, these do that AND make them look hot.

i would've loved to have something like this back when i was a social butterfly senior at cibola.
although we really didn't use email....or have cell phones....but we had pagers!
i could've put my best friend's pager number on them right?
(my parents would not let me get a pager in '95. lame.)

anywhoo, i am lovin my seniors and their senior rep cards....

to print, or not to print....

that has always been the question.
and i finally have the answer.

YES! it's time to add prints to my packages!!!!!

i've always loved giving clients the freedom that digital negatives provide and i've never wanted to change that.
so instead, i'm going to add to it.

recently, i became privy to the most high quality photography prints on the market.
the paper caliber is in a class all it's own.
the vibrancy of colors, the textures--so distinct and superior to anything i have seen thus far.
i want my clients to have access to these too.
so i'm adding them to my packages.
you've got to start your collection somewhere--and i want it to be the very best.

from now on, each package will come with ALL of the following prints: 1-20x24, 1-16x20,
1-11x14 and 1-8x10, AS WELL AS an online artistic consultation on how to arrange your prints for maximum enjoyment:)

YAY!!!!!

i can't tell you

how good it feels to walk into a client's home and see my art all over their walls.
it makes my heart sing.

i don't often get to see what people do with their digital negatives.
i always hope that they PRINT PRINT PRINT!!!

in this case--they sure did....

volcano vista prom -albuquerque high school/ senior photographer

ahhhh,to be young again.
(oh what i would give!)

i met up with this lil hottie again for some quick pics of her and her date before the prom.
then the car pooling buddies showed up.
beautiful girls, dashing guys.

(my older brother is a teacher at vvhs.
he has told all of these young folk that i am his ADOPTED SISTER. from russia.
not nice mr. greaves.
i gave them a comeback to give him next time they see him.
it is a tad inappropriate so i won't post it here.
sibling rivalry never ends sometimes. like in my case:)

back to the cuties at hand....

a new fave

this one.
the minute i saw it, my heart skipped a beat.
the light. the natural blur of her motion. the out of focus face. the crop. the emotion. i can almost hear her laughing.

totally love this photo.

family of 3 - albuquerque family photographer

we had such a great time running all over town for pics,
following the light,
and ending up on the mesa-at sunset- with the coolest animal print chair ever.

the remingtons are realtors here in town.
they have one darling daughter who was just SO FUN to work with.
i don't think i've ever had a kindergartner more eager and willing to be in front of my camera--and for 3 hours straight!
seriously, she amazed me.

mom christine has THE BLUEST EYES i've ever seen...

towards the end of the shoot, we backed up their suv and opened the hatch.
wah-lah--camera magic.
the light was like BUTTAH!!!!

they might tell you that i sang a mariah carey song to get them to laugh right here.
i will deny it.

and here is that fabulous chair that they use to stage homes.
i want it.

so hollywood:)

did you know there are camels in corrales? -albuquerque family photographer

well there are.
and i met them.
they were SO FRIENDLY these camels.

christy set up a shoot for her boyfriend and his kids who were visiting their dad for spring break.
we met at their friend's ranch in corrales.
there were camels, llamas, water bison and horses. it was awesome.
(i came home asking laurence if we could get a camel. he said no. i will try again later.)

sweet family.
sweet location.
what more can a photographer ask for.

baby beckett -albuquerque newborn photographer

cool name right?
i've only ever met one other beckett.
i love that name.

this sweet, adorable, AWESOME family just added a son.
(they also lay claim to another fabulous name/child- the original asher.)

i feel like he's smirking and winking in this one...

asher was OBSESSED with my camera.
obsessed.
mom and dad were so worried he would mess something up, but i wasn't.
my camera has a pretty hard life with me as it is. (it gets beat up.)
i was so happy when i saw this pic.
dad is trying to get to asher before he pushes the button.
too late.
i LOVE this.

...and then he showed me his own camera. backwards. cute.
wii bowling anyone?
